The CVRMC General Surgery Clinic works with patients to provide surgical services close to home. Providing a full spectrum of surgical procedures, including laparoscopy, breast biopsy, tumor removal, thyroid, colonoscopies, endoscopies, pulmonology, dermatology, audiology, nephrology, and more.
Dr. Steve Sawyer, General Surgeon, has over 20 years of surgical experience and is American Board of Surgery Certified. He trained at Denver General Hospital where he was filmed for "Trauma: Life in the ER" and took care of the victims of the Columbine shooting.
In his spare time, Dr. Sawyer likes to spend his time in the outdoors. He likes to hunt and fish, and has been on trips to Alaska, Canada, and Africa!
He has been a basketball referee for over 30 years and can often be seen working at high schools and colleges all over the state.
Dr. Pierre C. Gilles, General Surgeon,, is a Chicago native and a graduate of Northwestern University's Six Year Honors Program in Medical Education. He has practiced in the Phoenix Metro region for over thirty years, including fifteen years as a Level 1 Trauma Surgeon. He was featured several times on William Shatner's, "Rescue 911."
Dr. Gilles' practice encompasses all facets of general surgery with a focus on advanced laparoscopic surgery, complex abdominal wall reconstruction, neck endocrine surgery and a penchant for Breast Disease Management.
"Education and Empowerment" are foremost in Dr. Gilles interactions with patients and their families, as well as to optimize personal and community health and wellness.
