CV Family Birth Center Services

The CV Family Birth Center at Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center provides a welcoming, secure atmosphere for expecting mothers and their families. We provide services to citizens of the Globe, Miami, San Carlos, Superior, Hayden-Winkelman, Kearny, Roosevelt, and Young areas. The Obstetrics Department of CVRMC boasts five fully-equipped labor/delivery/recovery/postpartum rooms, two additional recovery rooms, and a nursery equipped to accommodate well babies born at 36 weeks gestation or later.

The CV Family Birth Center averages between 30-40 deliveries per month. The department is staffed by experienced labor and delivery Registered Nurses and OB Technicians. Expectant mothers receive a spacious, comfortable room where they can relax and enjoy their labor experience. The expectant mother will labor, deliver, and recover in one room. Friends and family members are welcome during visiting hours at the patient's discretion to share in her experience and to meet the newest member of the family. Our nursery has state-of-the-art equipment and features a viewing window from the family waiting room.

The expectant mother may find it helpful to have the comfort and support of close family members during labor and delivery. Two visitors are allowed in the room during delivery of the baby. All other family will be asked to wait in the comfortable family waiting room. At the present time, no children under the age of 18 are allowed in the hospital due to the H1N1 virus. Due to other expectant mother's privacy and comfort, only four visitors will be allowed in the room at a time. This will ensure that all patients and their families have a comfortable, quiet stay.

Although the CV Family Birth Center has most of the things you will need for delivery, you should bring certain items to help you be more comfortable. These would include lotion, shampoo, conditioner, bodywash, toothbrush, toothpaste, soft pillows, camera, clothing to go home in, clothes and blankets for baby's first photo, and an outfit for baby to go home in, snacks and/or change for the vending machines for your support person and family members, and an infant car seat. Visitors and family members may also purchase meals in the hospital cafeteria during their normal serving hours.
